Call of Duty League Playoffs to be played online

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Call of Duty League will also play its playoffs and Championship Weekend online. The League will also be taking additional measures to ensure fair play and competitive integrity throughout the online matches.

The Call of Duty League has been played online for a while now and it seems it’ll end its season online as well. The CDL released a statement talking about the decision. To ensure competitive integrity all teams will be provided with a camera setup so teams can be monitored. They will also be given three servers to test and will determine the server that’ll be played on by veto.

Not everybody is happy about this decision however, as some teams have performed noticeably better since the matches made the switch to online play. Seth “Scump” Abner is among the players who talked about the concerns, focusing on the server selection. On Twitch he explains some team’s players are spread out across the United States, while the Huntsmen have four players in Texas, meaning the Texas server will get a veto.

Ever since the Call of Duty League moved to online play the Florida Mutineers where on fire. They’ll head to the playoffs and Championship Weekend as the favorites, followed by the Huntsmen, Atlanta FaZe and Dallas Empire. When it comes to the actual production of the event, the Call of Duty League ensured it’ll be sharing more details and updates in the coming weeks.
