American professional Dota 2 player Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho has been banned from taking part in competitions and tournaments by Valve and Beyond the Summit. The reason behind the ban is his alleged misconduct at Dota 2 tournaments, which DeMoN denies.
Back in June multiple stories came out about alleged sexual assault involving DeMoN from two anonymous sources. He still remained active within Dota 2, moving up in the closed qualifiers to the Dota Pro Circuit. Beyond the Summit decided to ban DeMoN from further participating yesterday, while still allowing the other players of the team, and the team as whole (Aristotle), to continue competing.

Beyond the Summit gave a little more insight into their decision via a tweet they posted to the NA Dota Pro Circuit Twitter page. “Player Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho has been banned from participating in the DPC due to misconduct at previous Dota 2 tournaments. Team Aristotle can continue to compete in the NA DPC league and will be permitted to register a replacement player.”

DeMoN defends himself
DeMoN himself took to Twitter to defend himself, once again denying all allegations made against him. “I will continue to do what I can to clear my name starting off by emailing Valve. I did not commit any ‘misconduct’ the 2 anonymous people claimed that I did.” After his statement, multiple pro players came out to defend DeMoN, calling the ban by Beyond the Summit ‘ridiculous’. DeMoN himself said he was looking into taking legal action.
