Brax listed under TSM’s roster going into Stage 2 Challengers

Brax’s days as a free agent may be numbered as TSM has him listed on their roster as a 6th man.

Braxton “Brax” Pierce was one of the first notable signings in the early days of the VALORANT esports scene. A former CS:GO prodigy under the “swag” moniker, he was eventually VAC banned for being involved in a match fixing scandal in 2014. Brax’s move to VALORANT under the T1 banner was seen as a ‘redemption arc’ and garnered a great deal of traction of both the organization and esport as a whole.

As a part of the T1 roster, Brax most notably finished 2nd at the T1 x NSG Showdown, ended 5th-8th in First Strike, and had a short run in the NA Masters open qualifier. Brax was often the centerpiece of this T1 roster as their IGL, however after months of middling results both Brax and Keven “AZK” Lariviere were cut.

Floating in free agency since February, TSM has allegedly engaged in talks to acquire Brax as a part of their lineup. Appearing in their roster lineup for the NA Stage 2 Challengers Open Qualifier, Brax is listed as a 6th player on the TSM roster.

What this completely entails for Brax is unsure, however various sources have reported that Brax has alternated with James “hazed” Cobb in TSM’s scrims. With TSM’s recent shortcomings, seen primarily through their failure to qualify for NA Masters, Brax’s IGL presence in addition to his pure mechanical ability could stand to benefit the squad. 6-man rosters come with inherent problems as players must compete for playtime, and how TSM will deal with this inevitability will certainly be interesting.
