Both TSM and Cloud9 lose first LCS Lock-In match

Both Cloud9 and TSM made some major changes to their League of Legends rosters for the upcoming LCS season and are both frontrunners and favourites to win it all. In their first matches of the LCS lock-in tournament however, both teams were unable to secure a victory.

TSM kicked things off against 100 Thieves but found themselves struggling against a strong 100 Thieves bot lane in the form of Ian Victor “FBI” Huang and Choi “Huhi” Jae-Hyun on Kai’Sa and Sett. Cloud9 shared a similar fate against Evil Geniuses, with a great performance by the EG bot lane, especially Matthew “Deftly” Chen on Kai’Sa as well. New Cloud9 signing Luka “Perkz” Perkovic wasn’t able to showcase his skills on the Yone pick, finishing the game with a 4/7/2 scoreline.

Other matches saw a big victory by Team Liquid over an overhauled CLG roster, while Dignitas beat Flyquest and CLG lost once again against Golden Guardians later on. Trouble might be brewing for CLG, who were also seen as one of the most improved rosters throughout the offseason.

Things aren’t lost for Cloud9 and TSM yet, as there are still more days to go in the lock-in tournament. Up next TSM will face Golden Guardians today (Saturday) who come fresh off a win, while Cloud9 takes aim at FlyQuest on Sunday. The first day of the Lock-In tournament didn’t go as expected, to say the least.
