Blizzard announces $100.000 Hearthstone Scholomance Inn-vitational

A new Hearthstone tournament has been announced by Blizzard and is set to take place on August 25. The tournament itself was announced as a showmatch tournament with some of the biggest personalities surrounding the game being involved and competing.

In total there’ll be 20 players competing for the $100.000 prize pool, all being divided into teams of 2 players for a total of 10 teams. Every single player will play in four rounds, where they’ll compete in best-of-three matches. The tournament will also have a unique scoring format and is of course set to promote the Scholomance Academy expansion.

Scoring format
  • Participating teams will make four decks which feature at least 10 cards from Scholomance Academy.
  • Every individual game win will award the team one point
  • If both players on a team win their match with a 2-0 sweep, they’ll be awarded two additional points.
  • Placements are decided by total point count after the four rounds have been played.
