Black Ops Cold War season 5 – Everything you need to know about the new content

Four new weapons (and a new scorestreak) introduced

We’ll be getting a wide array of new weapons in season 5, with four different types of weapons as well. The first one is the EM2, which is an all-round assault rifle that features a slightly lower fire rate but solid damage. It’s effective at range, as controlling recoil should be a little easier. We’re also getting a brand new SMG in the form of the TEC-9, which had already leaked earlier. The SMG features low recoil, lower fire rate and better handling and damage at range.

There’s still two more weapons coming to the game, with the cane being a brand new melee weapon. The idea is that you’re an old man, giving your enemies hell. Finally there’s the Marshal, which is a brand new secondary. It’s a double barrel pistol capable of high damage up close, but it’s high-risk, high-reward. All weapons will be available at launch, except for the Marshal, which will be released in-season.

Players will now also be able to get a brand new scorestreak, which is the iconic Flamethrower. The idea behind the scorestreak is it being relatively easy to get (low score) and is highly effective up close.

Five new maps
Slums makes a comeback.

We’re getting multiple remakes of older Black Ops maps coming to the game yet again, as Slums, Drive-In and Zoo will be added to the game at launch. All three maps will be standard 6v6 maps. Fans of the older games will be especially happy to see Slums listed here, as it’s been a community favorite for quite a long time.

Aside from those three there’s still Echelon, which is a map set in Berlin, which will also be 6v6. Finally Treyarch is introducing Showroom, a close-quarters map for 2v2 and 3v3 combat.

Demolition makes a return
Fan-favorite Demolition returns.

Two new game modes are set to make a return in season 5, with one of them being the fan-favorite Demolition, which hasn’t been featured since Call of Duty WWII. The game mode will be released in-season. Then there’s Double Agent which is reminiscent of Among Us. The game mode gives you a certain role (Double Agent, Investigator or Operative), with the Double Agent trying to kill everyone.

More zombies content

Finally let’s take a look at all the new Zombies content we can expect in season 5. A 9th perk is entering Zombies in the form of Death Perception, which will outline zombies on the screen in a vivid color (more details on the perk are still to come). There’s also the Tesla Storm field upgrade, which shoots out lightning which stuns normal enemies and can be upgraded with Aetherium Crystals.

A new Outbreak region is released in the form of Collateral, with new objective Transport, where you’ll have to get a Requiem machine across the Outbreak zone. You’ll also be able to craft the new grapple gun, helping you travel more quickly. Finally, a new vehicle in the form of a tank is also hitting outbreak, which sees you drive a durable vehicle with a minigun.
