BDS reportedly take a gamble on young ERL bot laner xMatty

BDS will be making their entrance into the LEC with the start of the Spring Split. Filling the void left by Schalke 04, many speculated how BDS would design their first roster. The French organization is no stranger to spending big on rosters in other esports. It seems that BDS is taking some big risks on ERL talent, as the team is rumored to sign xMatty.

The English ADC is the currently starter on Karmine Corp. As apart of this LFL squad, xMatty won the LFL Spring Split, EU Masters Spring, and the EU Masters Summer events. The team made every finals in the ERLs in 2021, cementing themselves as the best team in the ERLs.

Now, xMatty is reportedly making the leap to the LEC. The ADC has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with BDS for a two-year deal on the starting roster. Neither BDS nor xMatty have confirmed the deal, as the free agency window opens November 14th.

Not much has been revealed regarding the BDS 2022 roster. Many have speculated that the team will pick up several remaining players from the Schalke 04 2021 roster. Both LIMIT and Nuclearint have been rumored to also join the team. While the team was in early talks to potentially pick up Rekkles, it seems that the organization would rather risk it on a young ERL player.

This roster will be BDS’ first step into the LEC, and set the tone for the organization moving forward. While BDS are not the big spenders many thought they would be, the team could still make an impact on the league.
