Battlefield 2042 shows first gameplay in epic trailer

Battlefield 2042 only got announced recently but now we’ve also gotten a look at the gameplay during the Microsoft E3 conference today, and it looks good.

This time around Battlefield is visiting the future (2042, obviously) when it comes to the theme of the game. This theme is also reflected in the gameplay, where we see a lot of futuristic vehicles and weapons, without becoming unrealistic. In the trailer we see the two sides duking it out in the desert and huge cities, filled with gunfire and explosions.

The trailer also shows a few gameplay elements, with some making a return from earlier games while also bringing some entirely new ones. For example, one moment in the trailer shows a soldier changing the attachments to his gun. Destructible environments are also back in full force, as the buildings in the city are subjected to numerous explosions.

Chances are we’ll get to see more gameplay as the Summer rolls around, but this trailer should be enough to hold you over for a while. For those who are interested in the game, the release date was shared earlier, with Battlefield 2042 hitting the shelves on October 22. It’ll be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
