Atlanta FaZe cement their legacy with a CDL Championship

Atlanta FaZe’s core trio of Tyler “Abezy” Pharris, Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson, and Chris “Simp” Lehr have been a longstanding force in the CoD esports scene. Along with relative newcomer McArthur “Cellium” Jovel, the squad has gained their most recent accolade in the CDL Championship. Atlanta FaZe defeated Toronto Ultra in a competitive 5-3 series. The legacy and dynasty of the FaZe squad only continues to grow after a successful 2021 season.

How FaZe dominated their final hurdle

Though FaZe ultimately walked away with the win, no map was given over for free. Toronto took an early lead off of a Hardpoint on Moscow, though FaZe quickly matched them after a tight SnD match. FaZe went on a three game tear that cemented their lead, which they would carry throughout the remainder of the series.

Toronto Ultra manged to turn things around, if only momentarily, on SnD to keep their CDL Championship dreams alive for one more game. This hope was quickly snuffed out on the final game, where FaZe took a commanding lead on Hardpoint to close out the series.

Atlanta FaZe cap off their year with a title

Atlanta FaZe had one of the best years in recent memory. The team won three out of the season’s four majors, showing that they were a clear cut above the rest. Even when the team did struggle, from both burnout and physical fatigue, in stage five, the squad recovered and seemed better than ever.

After riding out one of the best seasons in CDL, and general CoD esports history, FaZe has shown that they are one of the pillars of the scene, with one of the best rosters to go along with them.
