Astralis to start without leader for three months

CS:GO has always been a mentally taxing esport that pushed players to their limits. Even recordbreaking superstars Astralis are not above the fray as gla1ve has announced a hiatus from active play.

Astralis’s in-game leader Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander has announced a hiatus due to illness from active play in his twittlonger:

“For a longer period of time I have had symptoms of stress and burnout. My teammates and the Astralis organization have tried many different things to help me out and overcome this. As it’s still going on, my doctor and I have decided that I need a break, and yesterday I have given a sick note to Astralis.

The next 3 months I will be using my time to fully rest and then come back to the Astralis team.”

While gla1ve focuses on recuperating, newest signee Jakob “JUGI” Hansen will fill in for him. The Dreamhack Masters Sping 2020 starting today will be JUGI’s trial by fire as Astralis will be competing against G2, North and Heroic for a slot in the playoffs.
