Astralis parts ways with Magisk, Dupreeh, and Zonic

Astralis announced on Twitter that the organization has officially released the trio of Magisk, Dupreeh, and Zonic. The organization thanked the trio of players for their immense contributions to the roster, writing “Thank you for everything. We will see you later.”

Dupreeh joined the roster originally as TSM in 2015 and saw the team’s massive change over the course of several years. Dupreeh is one of the most decorated players in CS:GO, being apart of all four Major wins for Astralis. Magisk joined Astralis slightly later, being integrated into the roster in 2018. Joining slightly later, Magisk was apart of three Major Championship runs.

Under the stewardship of Zonic and with the contributions of the two players, Astralis became undoubtedly the most dominate team in CS:GO history. The team by far as had the most weeks consistently in the first place spot in the world power rankings. While Astralis have spent over 300 weeks at the top spot with Vitality, NiP, and Na’Vi all trailing significantly behind.

The former Astralis trio have been rumored to leave the roster for months. In the final few competitions of the year, Astralis benched Magisk and Dupreeh in favor of integrating K0nfig and blameF into the roster. While still unconfirmed, the three are expected to join Team Vitality as the organization undergoes a rebuild.

This move to Vitality seems more likely now that Shox has officially left the French organization to join Team Liquid. Kyojin is similarly expected to leave the roster soon to make room for the Danish duo of players to join.
