Arcane Season Two in production – confirmed by Riot Games

The third and final act of the first season of Arcane came to an end this weekend, and Riot Games were quick to confirm a second season of the popular animation series.

The Arcane Twitter account released the season 2 teaser yesterday. In that trailer, you can hear the voices of Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn, which would mean the story will follow the events of the first season’s nine episodes.

Let’s not forget the cliffhanger at the end of the first season, which should be addressed in the second season for continuity as well.

It’s going to be interesting to see where the story takes our beloved characters. With more than a dozen regions in Runeterra, there’s still enough LoL universe to explore. Bringing in an entire new region to Arcane wouldn’t be the worst idea.

The first season was primarily Piltover and Zaun, although Noxus was shown heavily going into act three.

Riot has not given a release date for season two thus far. Hopefully, the two years between the initial announcement and the release of the first act isn’t something to go by, although a global pandemic was responsible for this big gap. Even if the world goes back in lockdown, the lessons learned from the first year of working remotely and at home should give the Arcane team a headstart.

If you haven’t watched Season One of Arcane yet, you’re missing out. Arcane streams exclusively on Netflix.
