Arcane is the most watched show on Netflix in over 38 countries

Following the Worlds 2021 Championship, Riot Games released its first ever full-length animated series dubbed Arcane. The series has since seen critical acclaim by fans of the long running MOBA series and neutral viewers. In just the first days of its release, Arcane has already topped charts.

Arcane currently holds the number one spot in Netflix’s most watched category. Once held by the international sensation Squid Game, Riot Games has usurped the spot in a roaring open week. Arcane is currently the most viewed Netflix show in 38 countries.

This exhaustive list includes Germany, Denmark, Brazil, Russia, France, Egypt, Uruguay and much more. The international renown speaks to the global nature of Riot Games and its most recent production. The show currently holds 9.4 out of 10 on IMDB and has received generally positive reviews across the board.

The series has only completed the first of three legs. Act one included the first three episodes, providing the origin stories of several playable characters. Vi, Jinx, Ekko, Jayce, and Viktor were just some of the Champions featured in this initial arc. Two more arcs are ahead of Arcane, set to release in the two coming weekends.

Whether or not Arcane will be able to maintain this incredible momentum is unknown, however Riot Games has already braced for the expected uptick in LoL downloads and the influx of new players.

Arcane is Riot Games’ first full-length series. Though the company has produced plenty of animated shorts and music videos, nothing to this magnitude has ever been attempted. Considering the success that Arcane has seen thus far, this is unlikely to be Riot’s only animated project.
