“All Random All Mid” or ARAM has always been one of the popular other game modes in League of Legends. Here is what you need to do to prevail in Howling Abyss.

What is ARAM?
All players receive random heroes in ARAM (as the game mode’s name says) and battle it out on a single lane against the opposing team. The available champions include the ones you own and the ones in the free rotation in addition to a fixed ARAM pool that is always available. If you are unhappy with your random roll, you can reroll and bench your previous champion. The champion in question will then be available to your teammates as long as they own it or have it in the free champion rotation.
Your Goal is still to push the enemy’s base and destroy the nexus. This naturally results in more teamfights as wildly different compositions clash against each other. Games are alse sped up as a result and last around 15 to 20 minutes.
If you win the match you can also be rewarded with a random champion that you have not unlocked yet.
Special Items
ARAM matches start with players buying their starting items similar to “normal” LoL. But there are mode-specific items that can only be used in Howling Abyss. Your starting gold is also adjusted to 1375 gold. Make sure to pick up one of the ARAM starter items with that as they are much better than the normal variants. So take your pick from the Guardians series.
Champion adjustments
On first look you might think that ranged champions rule supreme in ARAM. But Howling Abyss adjusts a lot of champions to make it more balanced. Ashe for example deals 15% less damage while Qiyana is buffed by 15%.
Make sure to try out different Champions to see how they fare in ARAM, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Dying can be useful
Usually you can always recall to refill your HP and buy new items, but in ARAM it does not work that way. You need to die and respawn to get something in the shop. So if you have been on the battlefield for a while and collected a lot of gold, you should fight a bit more recklessly, maybe even suicide to the turret. As long as the gold is just sitting in your inventory it is not of any use. So make sure to utilize your advantage by going for a shopping tour before returning to take down your opponents.
But the most important thing is to have fun in ARAM. The game mode is made for quick skirmisches, trying new champions or experimenting with interesting combos.
