Animated League of Legends series ‘Arcane’ to hit Netflix this fall

There has been plenty of talk about the possible animated League of Legends series, but now it’s actually going to be released.

In a tweet made by Netflix Geeked, the new League of Legends animated series ‘Arcane’ was teased. The short video that was included within the tweet featured an early look at characters such as Jinx and Vi, who will probably be two prominent figures within the series. The teaser also included some hooded figures and characters using abilities such as lightning.

When it comes to the plot of the series, the most likely candidate is the backstory surrounding Piltover and Zaun, two cities within Runeterra, meaning a whole list of other League of Legends champions will likely make an appearance within the series as well. Arcane is a collaboration between Riot Games and Fortiche Productions, as they’ve worked with the company on animation in the past.

Earlier this year we also got the animated series based on Dota, called Dragon’s Blood, which is also available on Netflix and received positive feedback from both fans and casual viewers alike. With League of Legends being as popular as it is, it’ll be interesting to see how the animated series will turn out.
