Alphari and Santorin talk about LCS import rules and past struggles in Reddit AMA

Team Liquid top laner Alphari and jungler Santorin have talked about numerous topics in their recent Reddit AMA.

One of the biggest topics that came up during the AMA was the one about LCS teams wanting to remove the import rule that is currently in place. Santorin talked about the issue. “I wouldn’t say the current import rules are perfect, there’s definitely room for improvement but if it comes to keeping the rule or removing it, I would not even in my wildest dreams remove it.” Santorin went on to cite building a fanbase and representing a region internationally as arguments against removing the import rule.

Alphari received a question talking about his time at Origen, a roster that ended up flopping and finishing 10th in the LEC, despite having some key players on the roster. “Ultimately there were clear player limitations and growing conflicts/tension in the team. The coaching staff also suffered a lot with Kayys being let go in between Spring and Summer, and while I respect Andre a lot and think he did a lot of things right, there was no one really present to provide mental support or take the necessary steps to try and fix the team – also because we only had us five players and Andre.”
