All VALORANT duelists ranked: Who’s the best fragger?

Everyone plays FPS games with one purpose in mind, and that is to frag out. Given that duelists are equipped to do just that, they are the perfect type of agent for people who love seeing themselves rack up the frags. But the big question is: which duelist is the best? We have ranked all of them to see who comes out strongest.

5. Yoru

The Japanese duelist Yoru is… not very good. While he has some very interesting gimmicks, with abilities mainly centered around trying to fake out opponents, his overall kit feels lackluster and not very suitable to being a duelist. As a result, Riot has been desperately trying to buff him into relevance, but so far they haven’t quite succeeded. Perhaps in the future, Yoru will find a place in the meta, but as of right now, he is irrelevant.

4. Phoenix

Being fourth might sound like Phoenix is a terrible agent, but he’s really not. He’s actually ridiculously strong, but the other agents are just a tad better. Having said that, a skilled Phoenix will tear up a server. His abilities can be used both offensively and defensively, he has a strong ult that will catch people off guard, and he is very self sufficient with the ability to flash himself into or out of a sticky situation, as well as heal up with three different abilities, and we’re including his ultimate ability here. Phoenix is a great pick for newcomers and veterans alike.

3. Raze

Raze is neck and neck with Phoenix when it comes to viability in the game, but the Brazilian just about clinches third due to her amazing mobility and destructive ultimate. While she isn’t as sustainable as Phoenix is, her raw destructive power more than makes up for it. She can clear multiple areas by herself through the use of her boombot, can catch people off guard by soaring through the sky with her blastpacks, and can blow up pretty much anyone with a direct rocket to the face. While she is harder to master than Phoenix, her skill ceiling is also a lot higher.

2. Reyna

Reyna might be a contested choice for second place over someone like Raze, but Reyna is the ultimate pubstomper. Her sustainability is insane, and she can singlehandedly turn a lost round into a victory if given the opportunity. Reyna rewards those with amazing aim, because all her abilities are built around getting kills. While Reyna’s abilities are neither flashy, nor very useful for her teammates, that’s not her job. Her job is to run around and kill everything that moves. She’s extremely adept at that, and as such, deserves to be second.

1. Jett

The South Korean Jett is a fan favorite, and not without good reason. Jett has relatively simple abilities, but her insane mobility means that she’s as of yet the only agent that often picks up the Operator. Her ability to reposition is so strong that she has become a must pick in every game. Combined with a very strong ultimate, Jett is without a doubt the best duelist currently available and is often the first agent that will get instalocked in VALORANT.
