Activision bans over 60.000 cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone in one day

Activision has announced they’ve banned over 60.000 accounts today for confirmed cheating in Call of Duty: Warzone as part of their zero tolerance policy.

In a blog post published on the Call of Duty website, the team behind the Call of Duty games talks about tackling cheaters. “Today we banned 60,000 accounts for confirmed cases of using cheat software in Warzone, bringing our total to date of more than 300,000 permabans worldwide since launch. We are also continuing our efforts to identify and address cheat providers at the source, who distribute unauthorized third party software for modding or hacking.“

Apart from punishing those players who actively cheat and make use of such software, the Call of Duty team will also implement a couple more measures. They’ll enhance and improve the internal anti-cheat software, put more resources into monitoring and enforcing bans and will try to communicate more towards the community when it comes to tackling these issues.

Recently the Call of Duty community has found itself in a bit of an uproar, as multiple big names within the streaming and YouTube scene have called out Activision and Call of Duty for the large number of cheaters that are still active. It would seem the developers have heard the call for more active moderation and regulation and are willing to step up their efforts.
