According to reports: Is the LCK looking to implement a salary cap?

In a report posted by Upcomer it’s said that most of the LCK teams might be pursuing a salary cap in their league, but T1 is the strongest opponent of the idea. As of right now there’s little to no information to be found about the earnings and contracts of the players in the LCK, but that might be changing if the new rules make it through. The idea is still being discussed and no maximum amount has been proposed.

Implementing a salary cap means that players will only be able to earn a maximum amount of salary at their team, in theory leveling the playing field for teams. A team like T1 being opposed to the idea isn’t at all strange, as their financial strength stands as a great advantage to them when it comes to securing players (or keeping them).

While many of the teams might be pushing for the salary cap, not everyone is on board, with many (Korean) fans pointing towards some of the negatives as well. A salary cap might mean the top Korean players might simply be moving to the LPL or other leagues to get paid, effectively weakening the LCK which is currently at a very high level.
