A starter guide for Jett

Ever since VALORANT launched Jett has been a fan-favourite pick with her potential for flashy outplays. Here are some of our tips and tricks to utilize her to full effect.

Where to Updraft?

On Haven the ideal place to use Updraft is on A. You can easily reach every box in the bombsite to gain a better vantage point. Make sure to compensate for the increased inaccuracy though if you are floating.

Haven’s A Spot is a playground for Jett.

Make sure to adjust your position according to info you or your teammates gain during the round. Audio cues can also help a lot in determining your opponent’s route of attack.

Bind’s B long is a great place to use Jett’s ultimate.

Bind’s B spot gives you another opportunity to use Updraft. If you float in the direction of B long you can use your ultimate to surgically remove enemies approaching from there. On Ascent you can use Updraft in A lobby to watch over A spot.

Tailwind to dodge opponents

Jett’s Tailwind ability bursts her forward in the direction she is facing. While you can combine it with Updraft to reach certain boosts around the maps, you can also use it while under fire. The rapid movement makes it difficult for your enemies to actually hit you. The downside is of course that you are unable to retaliate as you cannot use your weaponry during Tailwind.

Cloudbursts for Retakes

Cloudburst basically works like a smoke grenade and obscures vision. You can finetune the area blocked with your crosshair, while the projectile is in the air. One of the best usages for Cloudburst is during a retake of C on Haven. Place it on C long before moving into the left corner for Updraft. That allows you to easily take out opponents on the other side.

Bladestorm to blow away the opposition

Jett’s ultimate unleashes a blade storm against opponents that deals massive damage. A hit to the body deals 50 damage, while a headshot will oneshot at 150 damage. Utilizing her mobility abilities she can strike quickly from unexpected angles.

One of the prime spots to do so is looking over buildings in Haven’s A Garden. Just boost yourself up to watch A long and score some quick pickoffs.

Conclusion

Jett is one of the most active Agents in VALORANT. Quick and agile she is difficult to catch or pin down. Her mobilitiy also allows her to surprise opponents or gather intel that can make or break a round. Nevertheless Jett is still fragile and can be overrun, so make sure to pick fights you can win and rely on your teammates to clean up other situations.
