The news got out after Enad Global 7, the parent company behind Daybreak GC, showed the final report for the third quarter of 2021. In the presentation they prepared the information showed that they have started development on a brand new MMO, which is supposed to be a AAA title featuring the Marvel IP, most likely based on the popular superheroes.
Daybreak has supposedly been trying to get a Marvel-based game made for quite a while, going back all the way to 2018, but put the idea on the back burner for a while as the studio went through some reforms. While no date for the idea was shared, it’s very likely we’ll only see more information in the form of pictures or a teaser in a few years, as the game is currently still sitting in the very early stages of development.

It certainly isn’t the first Marvel MMO to hit the shelves, as Marvel Heroes was released back in June 2013 developed by Gazillion Entertainment. The title would eventually be ported to consoles as well. In 2017 Disney stopped working with the developer and the game was subsequently taken offline. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of spin Daybreak will put on a Marvel MMO and what the game will play like.
