There are a few ways to get skins for yourself and in this article, we’ll take you through some ways you can get some beautiful pixels!
1. Playing the game
There are timed drops enabled for all, if you do play on the official and community servers that have VAC enabled. The droprate peaks at a certain moment, only to slow down over time the more you play. Every week, it refreshes though, meaning that this can be a slow but constant stream of some skins!
2. Opening cases
During your playtime, you might also get some weapon and skin cases. These have skins in them, but require a key to open. This is a slight gamble aspect, as you rarely get your money’s worth.
3. Marketplaces
This is where you know exactly what skin you get and for what price. Valve has their own marketplace on which people list some beautiful skins, but there are also some third party marketplaces on the internet where you could get some more rare items. People list more expensive skins on those third party places, due to the ability to cash out rather than having the money they get from the skin stuck in the Steam ecosystem.
4. Trading
Already have some skins? Great! You could also try to trade yours with other players. This of course usually means evenly trading for the value of your skins, but you might just get the one you’re after!
