3 Tips & tricks for movement and shooting in VALORANT

1. Stand against most players, crouch against good players

The first tip is that you have to understand your enemy. Based on how good your enemy is, you should either keep standing, or start crouching when firing. When playing against players who aren’t at the very top of the game, you generally do not want to crouch when firing.

This is because most players who aren’t yet at a high level have a tendency to aim around chest height. That means that if you were to crouch, you would crouch into their aim, giving them a free headshot. Only crouch when playing against great players, who will often aim for your head. That way, they will miss you, and you can squeeze off a few rounds.

2. Be unpredictable

When running around, be unpredictable. Sometimes you will want to run from cover like a madman, meaning that your opponent has to try for a flick movement to be able to hit you. Other times, it’s better to bait out a shot by pretending to run from a corner a few times, then when the bullets start flying and your opponent’s recoil starts to kick in, that’s when you can move out of cover proper and take aim.

3. Know your recoil

The best tip is to figure out the recoil pattern of your guns. While the first few bullets that you shoot when standing still will generally go where your crosshair is pointing, past four to five bullets the recoil pattern will kick in. Study and practice this in the range, so you know how to move your mouse to keep your bullets from flying all over the place.
