100 Thieves exit CS:GO

Update: 100 Thieves have now officially announced their exit from the CS:GO-scene.

100 Thieves CEO and Founder Nadeshot officially announced the departure of his organization via Twitter on October 12.

Citing complications with Covid 19 and the urge to compete in Europe as the main factors the continued cooperation was not going to be sensible for the players or the organisation. Another problem Nadeshot mentioned in his message was the inability to make roster moves without jeopardizing their chances at qualifying for the Major.

As 100 Thieves are among the largest organisations in esports this comes as a heavy blow to the North American Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene as they are already struggling with a heavy exodus of players and talent towards VALORANT.

Although 100 Thieves are now departing from the scene, fans can take solace in the fact that Nadeshot did not rule out a return at a later point in time.

IEM New York 2020 will be the last tournament of the 100 Thieves before disbanding. While Jks has already been linked to complexity and jkaem allegedly has various offers from interested parties, it is unknown where the remaining players will be headed to.

It has been a long time since 100 Thieves’ Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster has had good news. Now reports surfaced that the organisation is about to pull out of CS:GO entirely.

While the current Australian-based roster of 100 Thieves have been struggling to put up results recently, the crisis in the team apparently runs deeper than expected. After their coach Chet “Chet” Singh left for NRG’s VALORANT team at the end of September, 100 Thieves have been without a replacement.

Disband imminent?

Now reports appeared that linked current 100 Thieves member Justin “jks” Savage with Complexity. Besides jks Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad has also reportedly received numerous offers to depart from 100 Thieves. According to a report by hltv.org the organisation is not looking to rebuild their roster with the remaining team members. Instead 100 Thieves is allegedly set to disband the CS:GO division entirely.

Until now no official announcements have been made and 100 Thieves are still playing in the ongoing IEM New York 2020 Online NA division. The team is also set to play in the upcoming season of the ESL Pro League and the BLAST Premier Fall Season, two leagues that have partnered with 100 Thieves as long term cooperations.
