100 Thieves collaborates with Lil Nas X for Worlds 2021 hype video

The League of Legends World Championship is among the most prestigious tournaments in esports. 100 Thieves is sending their LoL roster to the international brawl for the second time in the organization’s history. To commemorate this achievement, 100 Thieves collaborated with Lil Nas X to create their 2021 Worlds hype video.

The sudden crossover with the six-time Grammy winning artist seemingly came out of nowhere. Prior to the release of the video, Lil Nas X was posted throughout Twitter adorned in 100 Thieves merch. Alongside 100 Thieves owners and personalities, many thought that the artist would join the esports organization.

For now, it seems that the extent of Lil Nas X’s collaboration with 100 Thieves is limited to their music video. The music video features known 100 Thieves streamers and co-owners Nadeshot, Valkyrae, CouRage, and JHBTeam.

The hype video showcases a mashup of the artist’s two most well known and renowned songs, INDUSTRY BABY and THAT’S WHAT I WANT. The entire music video was shot in the 100 Thieves compound, now painted with a mural of the League of Legends roster currently in Iceland.

Lil Nas X was seen holding the LCS Trophy throughout the music video, both celebrating the team’s first domestic championship and optimistically previewing their team before the Worlds Group Stage begins. 100 Thieves certainly have a tall task in front of them, facing off against T1, EDG, and DFM in their respective group. The organization has continued to make history both on and off the rift, and could be positioned for a surprise run.
