On September 28 100 Thieves coach Chet “Chet” Singh formally announced his retirement from professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive . Esports journalist Jarek “DeKay” Lewis first reported on Chet’s potential move to VALORANT prior.
While Chet (formally known as ImAPet) did not officially say where he is headed to next, according to an earlier report by DeKay Chet will be moving to coaching a team in the VALORANT scene.

Chet is one of North America’s most accomplished coaches as he was among the key factors turning the former NRG (now Evil Geniuses) squad to the championship contenders they are right now. Following up on their victory at IEM Shanghai 2018, the team proceeded to also place Top 4 at the Berlin Major and won Starseries Season 8 as well as ESL One New York 2019.
In May he joined 100 Thieves after kassad left that team, before now announcing his retirement from professional CS:GO. During his tenure at 100 Thieves, the team could not quite break the hold of Evil Geniuses, Liquid and FURIA over the North American scene. Their best placement was at the recently concluded ESL Pro League Season 12 North America, where 100 Thieves placed second after losing to FURIA in a 0-3 Grand Final.
Which VALORANT team will Chet join?
According to the earlier report by DeKay, Chet will not be joining 100 Thieves’ VALORANT division, which already has veterans like hiko, nitr0 and steel on their roster. For now it is unclear which team the coach will be headed to next, but with his wealth of experience he should be a strong pickup for any lineup.
Chet’s transition to VALORANT would mark the first time a high profile CS:GO-coach crosses to Riot’s FPS.
