Tickets for the first day of Overwatch league have finally sold out, Blizzard announced on Sunday in a tweet.

The Blizzard Arena Los Angeles, which will be hosting the event, has a capacity for 450 viewers, plus guest boxes.

“It's official! Day 1 of the #OWL2018 Inaugural Season is SOLD OUT!” Blizzard wrote via the Overwatch League official Twitter account.

The announcement was met with excitement by fans, but some users in a Reddit thread rightly pointed out that the sell-out is no surprise, given the venue’s limited capacity and the tickets’ affordable price of $20 apiece for weekday matches. Saturday tickets cost $30.

“Saturday is pretty close to being sold out too,” according to a tweet by Overwatch League community manager @ZoeviaBlizzard.

Overwatch League Stage 1 tickets went on sale almost a month ago, on December 11, 2017.

Stage 1 of Overwatch League’s inaugural season begins on January 10, 2018, following pre-season play which took place on December 7-10.

In the opening day, the San Francisco Shock will play the Los Angeles Valiant, at 4:00 p.m. PST. The match between Shanghai Dragons and Los Angeles Gladiators starts at 6:00 p.m. PST, while Dallas Fuel is facing Seoul Dynasty at 8:00 p.m. PST.
