mousesports eliminate BIG from IEM Chicago

BIG were eliminated from IEM Chicago following their second loss at the ESL event. The Germans fell victim to a hungry mousesports team that completely outmatched them in a 2 – 0 victory.

After missing a chance to get to the playoffs through the winners’ bracket yesterday, mousesports came in with a mug on their face into this elimination match. They started out well on BIG’s map choice Dust II, building an early 5-2 lead as CTs. Although they eventually lost the half 7 – 8, it was of little consequence as they went mental post-break, winning nine out of eleven rounds for a 16 – 10 score.

Train unfolded in an almost identical way. The minor difference being mousesports went into the break with a round advantage instead of BIG. The latter made sure the score line from Dust II is repeated by taking one more round in the second half but with only one of them coming with the guns out on both teams, BIG didn’t really have an argument in this match.

Mousesports will be playing Luminosity Gaming for a spot in the quarterfinals. The Brazilians are picking up steam in Chicago, winning a second Bo3 in as many days, this time beating eUnited 2 – 0. The American squad caused the biggest surprise on the first day of play by upsetting Natus Vincere. However, they did not win another map in the two Bo3s that followed and will have to settle with a comfortable spot on the couch for the rest of the event.
