DreamHack Masters Marseille kicks off today

The DreamHack Masters Marseille kicks off today, with $250,000 stacked in cash prizes. Sixteen teams will flock to the Le Dome De Marseille to participate in the event.  Participants represent different regions around the world and they will join the fray for the group stage, taking place between 18 April and 20 April.

For the first round of the clashes, the organisers have planned a Bo1 format, electing two teams from every group to continue to the playoffs. During the second stage, all successful teams will play in a single elimination Bo3 format.

The list of teams that will be joining the event via an invite or through the qualifiers are: Team EnVyUs, FaZe Clan, Fnatic, Gambit Esports, G2 Esports, Team Liquid, mousesports, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, SK Gaming, Valiance, Space Soldiers, Renegades, TyLoo.

The groups have already been determined, and participants will compete with three contending squads in each group.

With the opening matches in each group already announced, the event is all geared up to kick off in earnest. DreamHack Masters Marseille is also part of the Intel Grand Slam, the super event that commands $1 million in prize pool to the first team that scores as many as four victories in ten events hosted by DreamHack Masters and ESL.
