DREAMHACK ADDS FORTUM, ADVANCES STOCKHOLM MASTERS

DreamHack has signed a new partnership, adding clean-energy provider Fortum as an official partner to the impending DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 event.

Fortum has a long reputation for coming up with CO2-free and environmentally-friendly solutions for a number of companies. Fortum taps into nuclear and hydropower and has a long experience in preserving and utilising renewable energy sources.

When asked, DreamHack chief product officer Michael Van Driel commented:

At DreamHack we are tremendously excited to welcome Fortum as a partner to CORSAIR DreamHack Masters. As electricity is one of the key unseen ingredients in making esports happen, it’s a perfect partnership, at the same time this is a huge step for esports for a non-endemic brand like Fortum to enter the space.’

The appreciation was bilateral, with Fortum head of communication for Sweden joining in by saying:

‘We are super excited to partner up with DreamHack Masters. It feels great to be a part of a sport that relies so definitely on electricity and to know that our product provides the means for this amazing concept. I am confident that DreamHack Masters in Stockholm is going to be a spectacular event.’

With the involvement of non-endemic brands in eSports, the newly-fledged partnership promises to open up new avenues of cooperation and investment for players on both sides of the spectrum.
