ESL has announced Astralis as the sixth team to get a direct invite for the ESL One Cologne 2018. The tournament, which is part of the Intel Grand Slam series, will be held from July 3 to July 8.

In 2017, Astralis also got an invite for ESL One Cologne, but had to pass on the event in order to have more time to prepare for the PGL Major Krakow, where they were the defending champions.

This year’s ESL invite for Astralis comes less than a day after the Danish team were crowned champions of the DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018, following a 2-0 victory against Na’Vi in the grand final and a dominant run throughout the event.

Cloud9, FaZe, G2, SK Gaming and Fnatic have already received invites for the ESL One Cologne which will take place at the iconic 18,000-seat Laxness Arena, dubbed by fans as the Cathedral of Counter-Strike. The fifth edition of the tournament will sport a prize pool of $300,000.

Another six invites are yet to be announced by ESL, while the remaining four spots for the 16-team event will be filled through regional qualifiers, with two teams from Europe, and one each from North America and Asia.
