Another big scandal shakes the Overwatch League. The Boston Uprising player was suddenly fired from his team after serious allegations.

The serious allegation came from a 14-year-old Overwatch fan named Lily. According to her, the 21-year-old Jonathan ‘DreamKazper’ Sanchez first followed her on Twitter and they started conversing. Later he invited her to play Overwatch together and they ended up engaging in sexually explicit behaviour over Snapchat and FaceTime. The girl says that the Uprising pro used his influence over her to take advantage and conduct extremely inappropriate acts over the internet, knowing full well her age and status.

It’s important to note that we’ve only heard her part of the story yet.  Initially, the Uprising tweeted this picture, stating their position on the matter:

Soon after, a brief tweet followed, announcing that they’ve permanently cut ties with DreamKazper:

As of the writing of this article, the player has remained silent on the matter. The latest tweets on his profile consist of the brief message ‘I feel good :)’ and a popular OWL meme depicting a bodybuilder with DreamKazpar’s face and the Boston logo photoshopped on top.

True or not, it is sad that players of the premiere Overwatch competition are associated with despicable acts such as these. The news were crushing to professional players and fans alike, especially after the shining successes of the Uprising this week in OWL.

DreamKazper is extremely skilled and talented player and he contributed a lot to his team. Now his career path is severed and he will likely struggle to find another team in the future. However, the presented evidence (including screenshots) seems very damming, and if the allegations turn true, the punishment will be well deserved.

We sincerely hope that there will be no more accidents of this nature to report, and instead we all will be able to return our undivided attention to the positives aspects of the League – the amazing players, the friendly rivalry between teams, and the world-class gameplay on display over at Blizzard Arena.

We will keep you posted with further developments on the story.
