In an official publication on their website, professional gaming powerhouse G2 Esports has announced the addition of popular streaming platform Twitch as an exclusive partner. Thanks to this multi-year deal, G2 will manage to reach out to fans by bolstering its streaming offer and improving live interaction with the help of the platform.

G2 Esports CEO and voracious gamer himself Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez has pointed out to the virtues of Twitch, explaining that it has become the quintessential example of entertainment. Twitch has been one of the most popular converging points for gamers from the world over to follow high-paced eSports action.

In Rodriguez’s own words, no other partner would have been feasible. He spoke of ‘elevating the […] relationship to new heights.’

Twitch issued an equally positive response, with Twitch Senior Partnerships Manager, EMEA Pontus Eskilsson shining the limelight at G2 Esports proper record of accomplishment of eSports excellence. Eskilsson pointed to G2 Esports victories at the LCS EU Spring and Summer in two consecutive years. For Eskilsson, the important thing from now on is to let the international gaming community ‘watch and be amazed by one of eSports most talented teams.’

The partnership will drive the creation of unique G2-related content, which will be broadcast through Twitch. In addition, the G2 Podcast will reach more gamers, and all new features will be showcased on Twitch Premieres.

G2 and Twitch are also pondering to extend their collaboration beyond the digital space and offer something to event-going fans, too.
