SAEBYEOLBE IS THROWING THE FIRST PITCH IN A NEW YORK METS GAME

The star New York Excelsior player will participate in ceremonial first pitch in a Mets game later today.

New York Excelsior is composed of an all-Korean line-up, but this is not stopping them from representing their city.

The team has an almost flawless performance so far in the League, hold the current Stage champion title and are on top of the standings by a significant margin.

Main DPS and star of the team Jong-yeol ‘Saebyeolbe’ Park was invited to today’s Mets game versus the Philadelphia Phillies and will be given the honour to throw the ceremonial first pitch. This makes him the first Korean electronic entertainment professional to achieve such status. The connection between the NYXL and the New York Mets is made through Jeff Wilpon, CEO of the baseball team and owner of the Overwatch one.

Reception from the eSports community seems to be very positive – some go as far as to say that Saebyeolble (and, of course, JJoNaK and the rest of the Excelsior) are some of New York’s best-performing athletes right now.

The baseball game is part of NYXL’s visit to their ‘hometown’ and part of series of scheduled events. After the baseball game, they will be meeting fans for a shared celebration of the team’s performance in the Overwatch League and a signing session.

Saebyeoble himself expressed his excitement about the New York visit and said he is mostly looking forward to spending some quality time in Central Park with his dogs. The NYXL party in the Big Apple consists of Pine, Saebyeolbe, Janus, Ark, Fl0w3r and coaches Pavane, Wizard, and Andrew Kim.
