8. Social Media Plug-Ins

(1) Esports.com currently uses the following social media plug-ins: Facebook, Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn, Steam.

(2) Esports.com uses the so-called 2-click solution. This means that when the User visits the Website, no personal data will be passed on to the providers of these plug-ins. The provider of the plug-in can be identified by the marking on the grayed out box by the initial letter. Personal data will be transmitted only if the User clicks on one of the plug-ins: by activating the plug-in, data is automatically transmitted to the respective plug-in provider and stored there (in the case of US providers in the USA). In addition, the data will be transmitted, whereby in the case of Facebook, according to the respective providers in Germany, only an anonymous IP address will be collected. This happens regardless of whether the User has an account with this plug-in provider and is logged in. If the User is logged in to the plug-in provider, this information will be directly associated with his/her account. If the User clicks on the activated button and link to the page, for example, the plug-in provider also saves this information in the User’s user account and informs his contacts publicly. If he does not wish his/her profile to be associated with the plug-in provider, he must log out before activating the button.

(4) The plug-in provider stores this data as user profiles and uses it for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or design of its website according to requirements. Such an evaluation takes place in particular (also for users who are not logged in) to display demand-oriented advertising and to inform other users of the social network about the User’s activities on the Website. The User has a right of objection to the creation of these user profiles, whereby the User must contact the respective plug-in provider to exercise this right.

(5) Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing by the plug-in provider can be found in the data protection declarations of these providers, which are provided below.
