By Stoyan Todorov eSports 7 days ago 105 views

The Formula 1 Esports Series registrations are now open. The organisers expect a significant interest in the event with estimated 100,000 contenders and 40 top qualifiers who will be eligible for a draft from a professional team.

The F1 2017 game will be played on Xbox or PlayStation. All participants will have to register their accounts on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live or popular game distribution platform Steam.

After the 40 best virtual drivers have been drafted, they will enter into an exclusive Pro Draft, where they will compete for the opportunity to become the official ambassadors/drivers for a major racing team. The list of names looking to hire a professional eSports driver to represent them is not short, and it includes some of car racing’s long-lasting crews, such as Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport, Red Bull Racing, Renault Sport F1 Team, and many more.

Williams, Haas F1 Team, McLaren, Toro Rosso, and Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team are the other teams that are now looking to complete their eSports line up, which is an excellent opportunity for F1 aficionados & gaming buffs to shift into gear and test their skills.

The final event will see drivers battle it out in the 2018 F1 Esports Series Teams’ and Drivers’ World Championships, which has a prize pool of $200,000. The event enjoys the support by established names in the eSports industry, including DHL, Codemasters, and Gfinity.
