With the recent results from the Madness and China Qualifiers, the list of teams for the EPICENTER XL is now officially complete. FlyToMoon managed to overcome quite the odds by coming out victorious against Double Dimension, Vega Squadron and Team Kinguin, thus securing their spot at the main event. FlyToMoon might have a chance to get back at Team Empire for knocking them out of the CIS Qualifier.

In China, LGD Gaming stomped over the competition by defeating Vici Gaming and VGJ.Thunder, then meeting VGJ.Thunder a second time in the grand finals after the latter managed to climb out of the losers’ bracket. LGD didn’t suffer a single loss throughout their journey to Russia. OG and Complexity’s rosters still aren’t complete after the departures of Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fominok and Kyle ‘melonzz’ Freedman, respectively, so we could be seeing some fresh faces around this time next month.

As far as the direct invites go, they’ve been known for some time now and basically include the top 4 teams from the Dota pro circuit ranking and Na’Vi. The latter being in the top 8 of that list, solely based on the recent transfer of Ilya ‘Lil’ Ilyuk, who has 929 out of the team’s 1199. But hey what would a tournament be without Na’Vi? In his latest public appearance, Na’Vi CEO Yevhen ‘HarisPilton’ Zolotarov, said the team was working to resolve the poor performance that we’ve seen so far, so fingers crossed that all works out in the end.

With the event being less than a month away, some of the teams will have only a couple of weeks between the end of DAC 2018 and the next tournament. Both competitions can decide the outcome for invites to The International later this year.
